Setting up an RESP

• Visit any BMO Bank of Montreal branch with:
  

  • your Social Insurance Number
  • Social Insurance Number of the beneficiary(ies)
  • one piece of government issued identification (a provincial health insurance card can be used to confirm identity except in those provinces where it is not permitted)
  • your bank account numbers
• Contact an Investment Specialist at the BMO Investment Centre at 1 800 665-7700. Your account will be set up and a copy of the necessary documents will be sent to you for your signature
• You can fax your information to the BMO Investment Centre at 1 888 840-2817 (1 888 840-2816 in Quebec). Your account will be set up and a copy of the necessary documents will be sent to you for your signature

If you are not a BMO Bank of Montreal customer and would like to open an account:

• Visit any BMO Bank of Montreal branch with:
  • your Social Insurance Number
  • Social Insurance Number of the beneficiary(ies)
  • one piece of government issued identification (a provincial health insurance card can be used to confirm identity except in those provinces where it is not permitted)
  • a void cheque from your non-BMO Bank of Montreal account
