Open an Account

If you are a BMO Bank of Montreal customer and want to open a BMO Mutual Funds account:

• You can visit any BMO Bank of Montreal branch with your Social Insurance Number and your bank account numbers. We may need to update our records so please bring two pieces of identification with you. At least one piece of identification must be government-issued (a provincial Health Insurance Card can be used to confirm identity, except in those provinces where it is not permitted).
  
  
• You can contact an Investment Specialist at the BMO Investment Centre at 1 800 665-7700. Your account will be set up and a copy of the necessary documents will be sent to you for your signature.

If you are not a BMO Bank of Montreal customer and want to open an account:

• Visit any BMO Bank of Montreal branch with your Social Insurance Number, two pieces of identification, at least one piece of which is government-issued identification (a provincial Health Insurance Card can be used to confirm identity, except in those provinces where it is not permitted) and a void cheque from your non-BMO Bank of Montreal account
